BlackBerry Curve 8530 Launched in India

RIM has announced the launch of the BlackBerry 8530 Curve, its latest mid-range CDMA device in India. The phone, available only through Tata Indicom at present, will add yet another mid-range smartphone option for CDMA users in the country.



As for the phone, it is a decently spec-ed smartphone featuring support for various social networking sites, instant messaging services including BlackBerry Messenger, and email. As for other features, it comes with the standard BlackBerry Full QWERTY keyboard, 256MB of memory and a 528Mhz processor for number crunching. It supports Wi-Fi as well as Location Based Applications and hence, GPS. It is also fully connected to the BlackBerry App World from where users can install a host of applications for their device. Being a BlackBerry, it also supports 10 email accounts, including Yahoo!, Windows Live Hotmail, AOL and Gmail, and of course, BlackBerry Enterprise Server support.


It also features voice-activated dialing and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support. The memory on the device can be expanded up to 32GB using micro SD cards.
